Beginner or Intermediate training class. ($45 because my website charges $5 shipping, could not delete)

I plan to have these classes on the first or second Friday evening of the month.

We will be focusing on NRL22 and the current monthly COF. These classes have been very productive and extremely educational according to past students.

We started around 4pm and we can go until 10pm if needed. There is not a hard start time to allow customers that can not come until after work. The students that show up at 4pm will start the first part of the course. We start with verifiy your zero and group testing. I have found many customer guns, even when they have cleaned them still have carbon rings. We will inspected with borescope, cleaned, re zeroed and verify if your barrel shoots better when clean. We will also chronograph your rifle / ammo and verify your ballistic app is set up correct. We will walk through the COF making dope cards and practices using our ballistic apps. We finished up with DFAT dry fire (INDOORS) on NRL22 props to get you ready for the match.

I will be limiting this to 4 shooters, we will do either beginner OR intermediate. This will ensure very individualized help. I guarantee you will learn. You will leave with a few tips or more likely a TON of info. Do NOT go out and buy anything for the class. I have all the loaner gear you would need. However please bring all YOUR current gear that you would take to a match, you can practice with your gear.

Class location at DST Precision store.

58575 County Road 7 Zumbro Falls MN 55991

Please email me at [email protected] if you have 4 people and want a private class on a day / evening of your choice.

No refunds, however you can sell your spot to another person if it turns out you can not attend. I might even have a waiting list to assist you with that.

PRECISION RIFLE

I have several years of experience in Precision Rifle Sports.  I also work with a Strong network of experienced shooters to continue to improve my skills.  Since 2016 I competed in PRS, NRL, BWRS and NRL22, I qualified for the finale matches multiple years. I have helped organized or supported several mid/long range local MN matches.  I own DST Precision, a FFL dealer specializing in precision rifle products and accessories.

Feedback from some shooters I have worked with in the past.

"I met Troy Spring of 2015, when I was trying to set up a gun to get started in Long Range shooting. He started sharing with me insights he had gained, and he has been extremely helpful in training me to shoot. Prior to meeting Troy, I had never shot at more then 100 yrds. The first time I met with him I was hitting at 500 yrs. Now my longest hit is 1340 yrds and I have competed in 4 PRS style matches.Troy is a patient, knowledgeable  shooter, who has been a great mentor to my shooting career. I would recommend being trained by Troy. I consider him a my mentor and my friend."

If your just starting out in the Precision Rifle sport you know that there is a lot to learn.  If your experienced you are still learning how to refine your skills.  You never stop learning in this sport.  This has certainly been my experience.  Troy at DST Precision introduced me to the sport and helped me quickly climb the learning curve.  He has  helped me to build confidence and remove the intimidation of shooting at matches that new shooters often experience.  I still have a lot to learn so I continue to lean on Troy at DST for help with questions and skill improvement.   If you are just starting out or want to get to that next level, give Troy at DST Precision an opportunity to help.  He knows his stuff.

I have been the beneficiary of Troy's excellent instruction for over a year now, and my shooting is measurably better as a result. What distinguishes Troy from others is that he is not only an accomplished precision rifle marksman, but he is also an excellent teacher, capable of designing effective learning experiences and explaining complicated concepts in highly accessible ways. This one thing is true: If I'm on the range with Troy, I'm going to learn something.

I meet Troy through the Minnesota Long Range Shooting Page in 2015. My goal
was to find someone to help me attain my goal of shooting 1760 yards. Troy helped me understand my a Android shooting app. Showed me some of the limitations of my rifle and optics choice. With Troys help I am close to attaining my 1 mile goal. I can say he is a patient teacher and very easy to learn from. I would recommend his service to anyone. Now with a new optic, some training from Troy, and of course some practice. I can dial my
optics for first rounds hits out to 1000 yards. My longest hits have been at 1320 yards with Troy's help. Hopefully this winter I can attain my 1 mile goal.

Thanks Troy!

When I first become interested in PRS type shooting, I spectated at a match in Two Harbors (2016). This is where I first met Troy. He was welcoming and answered my questions, and I quickly realized he would be a good resource as I embarked on my journey into the PRS type shooting sport. I signed up for the 2017 Pro/Am match he organized, and took his "Precision Rifle 2" course the next day.

Prior to my journey into this sport, I was a decent shot and an accomplished hunter. 2017 I've learned so much from Troy and other MN shooters- now I know some of my prior hunts were more luck than skill. 2017 I shot a bunch of MNPRS matches as well as Border Wars, and thanks to the groundwork Troy laid down I didn't do too bad in either series. 2017 hunting season I could feel the improvement in my marksmanship as well confidence in my equipment.

Troy is a great resource and ambassador for the sport .
